Position: 2026-2027 Social Studies Teacher Position Description: Archbishop Hoban High School is seeking a full-time Social Studies teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This position includes instruction of five sections of Social Studies courses aligned with school standards and taught in a modified block schedule format. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to creating an inclusive and positive classroom environment, actively engaging students in meaningful learning experiences while encouraging a high level of academic achievement. Candidates should be passionate and dedicated to supporting students’ academic, spiritual, and personal growth. Position Responsibilities: Create authentic assessments that consistently provide sound practice and feedback, resulting in student growth and development. Encourage a classroom culture of mutual respect and build positive relationships with students. Evaluate student academic needs and report student progress as scheduled. Communicate with parents/guardians in a timely manner regarding student progress. Incorporate the Holy Cross core values into classroom instruction and daily practices. Collaborate with fellow faculty members to design and lead authentic instructional experiences. Utilize a variety of instructional technologies in lesson plans and classroom activities to enrich student learning. Ensure compliance with all school policies and procedures to maintain a safe and productive environment. Participate in school-wide events such as open houses, meet the teacher night, and conferences. Effective communication, problem-solving, and time management skills. Maintain the confidentiality of privileged information. Position Qualifications: Valid Ohio Integrated Social Studies high school teaching license. Successful completion of a Bachelor’s degree. Working knowledge of school technology (academic software, Google, etc.). Appropriate criminal records check by the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Have attended or are willing to attend a VIRTUS Protecting God’s Children training.
