Cybersecurity Consultant

Are you a cybersecurity professional who loves solving tough problems, diving into new tech, and helping companies be more secure one step at a time? Archetype SC is looking for a Cybersecurity Consultant to join our team in Myrtle Beach, SC. You'll work directly with clients and teammates to implement security solutions, respond to incidents, and help build stronger, safer environments.

This role isn't entry-level - we're looking for someone with at least 2 years of hands-on professional experience in the field. Maybe you're experienced with firewalls, identity and access management (IAM), EDR, or SIEM. Or maybe your strength lies in network security, cloud security (Azure/AWS), or incident response. You don't have to know everything, but you should know and be experienced with something and be excited to keep learning.

Job Overview

Archetype SC is seeking an experienced and skilled Cybersecurity Consultant with 2+ years of professional experience supporting security and/or network infrastructure and applications to join our growing team. You will have the opportunity to work in enterprise environments, managing firewalls and other security-related technologies. Technologies to be worked with may include firewalls, VPN, endpoint security, proxies, IDS/IPS, SIEMs, etc.

You will be an integral member of our team, mentoring and guiding junior team members in their growth and development. You have a passion for technology, a high attention to detail, and competency in critical thinking and problem-solving. You act with integrity and can be trusted with sensitive client information.

Key Responsibilities

• Work on a wide range of client-facing cybersecurity projects, from implementation to assessments.
• Respond to security incidents and requests through ticketing systems and direct communication.
• Use your expertise to troubleshoot, design, and secure infrastructure (on-prem, cloud, hybrid).
• Support team members.
• Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Stay curious: learn new tools, pursue new and additional certifications, and share your knowledge with the team.
• As with any cybersecurity role, after-hours and on-call work may be required.

Required Qualifications and Competencies

• 2+ years of professional experience in cybersecurity or network infrastructure roles.
• Demonstrated knowledge and skills in at least one core security area (e.g. IAM, firewalls, EDR, SIEM, cloud security, network monitoring).
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
• Experience with major cloud providers (Azure preferred).
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Industry certifications (two or more: Network+, Security+, CCNA, or similar).
• A degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent real-world experience.
• Ability to work on-site in our Myrtle Beach office.

Please note that this role is located in our Myrtle Beach, SC office. Remote work is not an option for this role.
