Guggenheim Securities Summer Investment Banking Internship Program

Guggenheim's investment banking internship provides students with a unique opportunity for firsthand experience in significant transactions shaping the industry at a premier investment bank.

Guggenheim Securities offers an investment banking internship program designed to give students visibility and exposure to the day-to-day activities of the firm's IB division. The program includes training, mentoring, developmental feedback, networking opportunities, social events, educational sessions, and a senior banker career talk.

Internships are offered in a multitude of locations and business groups, including private equity advisory, energy, technology, equity capital markets, and more.

Guggenheim Securities is the investment banking arm of Guggenheim Partners, which employs more than 2,100 worldwide and is headquartered in Chicago and New York. Guggenheim Securities provides advisory, sales and trading, research, and financing services. In addition to investment banking services, Guggenheim Partners offers investment management and investment advisory services.

Intern Reviews:

• Build presentation decks, conduct research for companies, assist full-time employees with any PowerPoint or Excel work.
• I start the day by reviewing any emails and comments I received at night/early morning and address them. Then, I work on my deal as work flows in and work on the intern-wide strategic advisory project when I have downtime. I also occasionally have coffee chats with more senior people at the office. I hop on a few calls and take notes, and prepare documents.

Getting Hired Here:

• I had very positive interactions with my interviews, and it was obvious they were very selective with their candidates.
• They were selective. [The] first round was an email assessment, and then there was a Superday. The night before the Superday, there was a networking event with current analysts, associates, VPs, and MDs. It was cool to meet everyone then. The Superday requires some preparation because they give you a few materials prior or ask you to prepare materials too.
