Miller Johnson is seeking an experienced Immigration Senior Associate to join our Immigration Practice Group. What You’ll Do As an Associate of our Immigration Practice Group, you will: Represent clients in removal proceedings before the Executive Office for Immigration Review Prepare and litigate asylum applications and other humanitarian forms of relief before the Executive Office for Immigration Review Draft motions, briefs, and appeals before the Board of Immigration Appeals and federal courts. Assist with habeas corpus petitions and other federal litigation matters. Prepare and file waivers of inadmissibility and handle complex immigration matters involving significant legal and procedural challenges. Counsel clients regarding visa revocations, denaturalization proceedings, and due process concerns. Advise employers on H-2A and H-2B temporary worker matters and related compliance issues. Conduct client consultations and prepare clients and witnesses for testimony. Collaborate with colleagues across practices where immigration issues intersect including criminal, business, and other areas of law. Contribute to thought leadership initiatives, professional organizations, and business development activities. What You Bring The successful candidate will bring strong advocacy skills, sound judgment, and a commitment to delivering exceptional client service during some of the most challenging moments in clients’ lives. Qualifications include: Juris Doctor from an ABA accredited law school. Admission to the Michigan State Bar or eligibility to waive into Michigan. Three or more years of substantive immigration law experience. Experience with asylum matters, waivers of inadmissibility, and Immigration Court proceedings. Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills. Experience before the Board of Immigration Appeals preferred. Familiarity with H-2A and H-2B visa matters is a plus. A collaborative approach and genuine passion for immigration advocacy.
