About the Role:

Join Orthopaedic Surgical Specialists as a Medical Office Assistant Receptionist in Torrance, CA! This exciting role offers the opportunity to be the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a welcoming environment while supporting our dedicated team in delivering exceptional orthopedic care.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive first impression.
  • Assist with insurance verification and patient registration processes.
  • Assist with collection of co-pays and balances, processing payments accurately.
  • Manage phone calls, faxes and office text messages, scheduling appointments, and handling inquiries efficiently.
  • Maintain patient records, ensuring confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations and office protocols.
  • Coordinate with medical staff, facilitating patient care and ensuring smooth office operations.
  • Support the team with various administrative tasks as needed.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associates or bachelors degree as a "gap year" graduate is a plus.
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred.
  • Proven experience as a medical receptionist or in a similar role.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patient and staff.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes is preferred.
  • Compassionate and patient-focused attitude towards healthcare.
