Entry level novice nurse program for newly graduated nurses. This program is 4-6 months long after which the novice nurse moves to a permanent mentored psychiatric staff nurse position.
Job Summary :Provides direct patient care based on the knowledge of ANA Standards of Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing, Butler Hospital policies and procedures, and the RI Nurse Practice Act. Participates in treatment planning to coordinate management of medical and nursing care and discharge planning of their patients Coordinates Psychiatric and/or Medical emergencies in such a manner that assures that the individual in crisis is properly cared for and that all other patients are safe. Participates as an active team member by assisting other staff and accepting additional assignments to complete essential patient care and unit responsibilities. Requirements : Graduate of accredited school of nursing. Special Qualifications: B.S.N preferred.
