Job Summary


We are seeking an experienced Senior Oracle Exadata DBA to support the development, administration, and optimization of Oracle databases hosted on Oracle Exadata and Linux within the AWS Cloud environment.


The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing Oracle database environments, performance tuning, schema design, high availability, disaster recovery, and replication technologies. This role will support application modernization initiatives while ensuring scalable, secure, and high-performing database solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage Oracle databases across Development, Test, and Production environments on Exadata and Linux in AWS.
• Design and maintain database schemas, tables, indexes, and application database structures.
• Collaborate with application development teams for SQL optimization and database design.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve database performance and availability issues.
• Perform database performance tuning at both the Oracle database and Exadata storage layers.
• Install, patch, upgrade, and maintain Oracle Database software and Exadata components.
• Administer Oracle Data Guard for High Availability and Disaster Recovery.
• Implement and support Oracle GoldenGate replication solutions.
• Manage Oracle ASM storage and monitor ASM disk groups.
• Develop database operational standards, procedures, and best practices.
• Perform database backup, recovery, patching, and upgrade activities.
• Participate in on-call rotation and weekend support as needed.

Required Skills & Experience

• 7+ years of Oracle Database Administration experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on Oracle Exadata administration.
• Strong knowledge of Oracle Exadata architecture, including:
  • Storage Cells
  • Smart Scan
  • InfiniBand Networking
  • Hybrid Columnar Compression (HCC)
• 5+ years of Oracle ASM administration and storage management.
• 3+ years of Oracle Database installation, patching, and upgrades (PSU, DBRU, Release Updates, Exadata patches).
• 2+ years of Exadata and Oracle database performance tuning.
• Strong expertise in:
  • Database schema design
  • SQL performance tuning
  • Indexing
  • Locking strategies
  • Query optimization
• Experience troubleshooting Oracle databases, Linux OS, and Exadata storage issues.
• Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM)/Cloud Control.
• Strong SQL development skills.
• Experience with Oracle Data Guard and Oracle GoldenGate.
• Experience working with Oracle databases hosted on AWS is highly preferred.
