Job Title: Product Owner - Authentication Technology
Location: Seattle, WA



About the Role:
Client is seeking a proactive and experienced Product Owner to join our Authentication Technology team in Seattle. In this role, you will help shape and deliver secure, user-centric authentication solutions by partnering closely with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and technology partners. You will be responsible for maximizing product value through a clear vision, strategic roadmap, and effective backlog management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and communicate the product vision and roadmap for authentication solutions aligned with business objectives and security requirements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders - including business leaders, architects, engineers, and security teams - to understand needs, gather requirements, and prioritize work.
  • Own and manage the product backlog, ensuring user stories and features are prioritized based on value, risk, and strategic impact.
  • Refine and break down backlog items to ensure readiness for upcoming sprints and consistent delivery of high-quality increments.
  • Make decisions on scope and requirements during sprint execution and accept completed work that meets acceptance criteria.
  • Work with teams to ensure delivered solutions meet security standards, usability needs, and compliance expectations, especially in authentication and identity validation domains. (Role-specific addition)
  • Participate in Agile planning ceremonies, retrospectives, and release planning to drive continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Product Owner in Agile software development, preferably within authentication, identity, or security technology domains.
  • Strong understanding of authentication technologies, identity management, or related security protocols (e.g., MFA, SSO, OAuth) (Role-specific addition).
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and analytical skills to balance business needs with technical delivery.
  • Experience working with tools such as JIRA for backlog and sprint management.
  • Ability to translate business and security requirements into clear user stories and acceptance criteria.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in financial services or regulated industries.
  • Agile/Scrum certification (e.g., Certified Scrum Product Owner).
  • Familiarity with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) and DevOps practices.
