Performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled maintenance work and operates a variety of light and heavy equipment in the construction, operation, repair, maintenance and replacement of Town streets, sewer, recycle center, town office, fire department and other facilities and systems. May be assigned specialized responsibilities as part of job assignments. Cemetery Mower Position Summary The Cemetery Mower is responsible for maintaining cemetery grounds in a respectful, safe, and professional manner. Duties include mowing, trimming, landscaping, and general upkeep of cemetery property to ensure the grounds remain clean, attractive, and properly maintained for visitors and services. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Operates trucks and other motorized equipment in the performance of road maintenance functions. - Follows departmental operating policies, ensuring compliance with OSHA and other regulations. - Assists in the maintenance of Public Works equipment and facility. - Assists in the maintenance, installation and removal of all Town floats and docks.\ Assists in all snow removal activities including plowing, sanding, and snow removal. - Assists in municipal property clean up, tree removal, and in maintenance of Town property. - Assists in the placement and removal of street signs and decorations as required. - Assists Public Works crews in day-to-day operations establishing tasks, goals and routines and evaluating outcomes and accomplishments. - Review road surfaces, shoulders, ditches, and culverts to evaluate condition and establish project priority. Reports deficiencies to the Public Works Supervisor - Assists the operation and/or maintenance of Town parks, cemeteries and recycling center. - Maintains a positive image of the Public Works Department and the Town of Lubec by interacting with the public in a positive manner\ \ \ - Participates in the organization and cleanliness of the Lubec Public Works Facility - Participates in Lubecs recovery from storms and emergencies by focusing on roadways to identify hazards, washouts and any other condition that can compromise public safety. {=html} - Perform related work as required. Requirements of Work: - Considerable knowledge of materials, methods, and techniques commonly used in street, sidewalk construction and maintenance activities. {=html} - Considerable knowledge of the hazards and applicable safety precautions of the work {=html} - Working knowledge of the operation of construction equipment uch as trucks and back hoes used in road construction work, and ability to participate in the activities of employees engaged in the operation and maintenance of such equipment. {=html} - May perform tune-ups, lubrication, and oil changes, welds equipment and performs other vehicle service and repair work when necessary. {=html} - Paint interior and exterior buildings, rooms, walls, ceiling, and other surfaces; tapes, sands and prepares surfaces for painting. {=html} - Ability to assist crews in the completion of projects and regular tasks. {=html} - Ability to communicate, understand and follow complex oral and written directions. {=html} - Ability to establish and maintain harmonious relationships with employees and to effectively obtain satisfactory work output. {=html} - Ability to keep records and prepare reports.
