We are a delinquent real estate tax buyer and servicer, classified as specialty finance, Hybrid real estate finance company, in the Northlake, Illinois area.  We are looking to hire an experienced real estate/finance attorney.  This is a full time opportunity and the salary will be based on your experience.  We are looking to hire as soon as possible.  Familiarity with real estate tax liens, closing procedures and tax appeals will be helpful.

Duties

  • Lead litigation under the Illinois Property Tax Code regarding tax certificates.
  • Assist client with real estate transactions including purchase agreements, deeds, title reviews, and closings.
  • Conduct thorough legal research to support case strategies and document preparation.
  • Manage legal administrative tasks such as maintaining case files, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Manage multiple tasks and deliver timely follow-up to client.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant statutes.
  • Perform other related duties as assaigned.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with active bar admission in Illinois.
  • Proven experience in civil litigation and real estate law; familiarity with the Illinois Property Tax Code is highly desirable.
  • Strong research skills to gather pertinent legal information efficiently.
  • Excellent legal drafting and writing skills with attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated negotiation abilities to advocate effectively for clients’ interests.
  • Prior legal administrative experience managing case documentation and client correspondence.
  • Knowledge of litigation processes and the ability to handle complex legal issues across multiple practice areas.
