Key Responsibilities: - (3 eight-hour shifts on a rotating schedule, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM)
- Shift: Day Shift (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM)
- Schedule: Part-time (3 eight-hour shifts on a rotating schedule)
- Location: Vinings Health Park (with floating to Cobb Hospital as needed)
- Please note this role may float to Cobb Hospital as needed.
- Post-Anesthesia Recovery: Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients in Phase I and Phase II recovery following a variety of surgical procedures. Monitor vital signs, assess airway patency, manage pain and nausea, and evaluate readiness for discharge using established criteria.
- Clinical Expertise: Manage patients with advanced airways, titrate oxygen therapy, administer medications, and respond effectively to post-anesthetic complications (e.g., respiratory depression, hypotension, emergence delirium) with decisive, composed action.
- Patient & Family Education: Deliver thorough discharge instructions to patients and their support persons regarding post-operative care, medication management, activity restrictions, and warning signs.
- Care Coordination: Collaborate closely with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and pre-op nurses to ensure seamless patient flow through the perioperative process. Communicate effectively regarding patient status and any concerns.
- Flexibility & Adaptability: Provide coverage at Vinings Health Park and float to Cobb Hospital as needed, demonstrating adaptability and strong clinical skills across different perioperative settings.
- Team Leadership: Serve as a clinical resource and mentor for less experienced staff, modeling best practices in PACU care.
Key Requirements and Technology Experience: - Must have skills: Current RN license (Georgia or Compact State)
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification (required upon hire)
- Minimum 5 years of direct patient care nursing experience
- PACU, perioperative, or critical care nursing experience
- Graduate of an accredited/approved school of nursing (Diploma or ADN) is required .
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is strongly preferred .
- Licensure/Certification:
- Current RN License in the State of Georgia or a Multi-State Compact License.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required upon hire.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required upon hire.
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification required upon hire.
- CPAN (Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse) certification is highly desirable.
- Minimum 5 years of direct patient care nursing experience is required.
- Substantial experience in PACU, ICU, ED, or perioperative settings is essential.
- Expert clinical judgment, critical thinking, and assessment skills.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and patient education abilities.
- Ability to function independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Adaptability and flexibility to work across multiple sites as needed.
