POSITION SUMMARY The Store Consultant consistently delivers a positive customer experience to all customers, utilizing consultative skills to anticipate customer needs, suggest alternatives, and provide solutions. This customer‑service focused team member is knowledgeable in all areas of the Store’s business, including print, signs & graphics, and shipping. They are responsible for taking orders, coordinating activities in the Store, providing pricing and product information, and recommending FedEx Office products and services. The Store Consultant also operates and maintains a variety of equipment, moves boxes and equipment, stocks materials, manages the production queue and output, manages complex projects, manages retail supply, and completes assigned tasks based on priority. GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Representative list of duties, not all‑inclusive) People: Follow instructions of supervisors and assist other team members in performing store functions. Assist in the training of store team members. Service: Demonstrate consultative behaviors to understand each customer’s individualized need. Provide expert knowledge in printing, signs and graphics, and shipping product lines, recommending appropriate FedEx Office products and services. Use consultative skills to anticipate customer needs, suggest alternatives, and find solutions. Resolve all customer problems quickly and to the customer's satisfaction. Take complex customer orders using order systems and provide accurate pricing. Assemble parcels and prepare goods for shipping by wrapping items, inserting into shipping containers, weighing packages, and affixing labels. Set up and operate printing, binding, and related equipment using customer‑supplied originals. Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly retail store. Profit: Ensure confidentiality of customer data and careful handling of documents, media, and packages. Process financial transactions with a POS terminal, handling cash and making change. Cleans, repairs, and stocks all retail store printing and shipping equipment and supplies. Stay current on merchandising materials and ensure proper display of all retail products and signage. Take preemptive action to prevent errors and waste. Complete required financial paperwork and assist with financial reporting including daily sales, close‑outs, and bank deposits. Follow FedEx Office standard operating procedures and comply with legal, HR, safety, customer service, and security policies. Self‑Management: Perform multiple tasks simultaneously. Look for opportunities to improve knowledge and skills within the retail store. Operate with minimal supervision. Adhere to all FedEx Office standards, as outlined in the team member handbook. Perform all other duties as needed or required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS High school diploma or equivalent education. 6+ months of specialized experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. For new hires, must meet all FedEx Office employment qualifications in force at the time of hiring. For current FedEx Office team members, must meet hiring criteria for the position and transfer requirements as outlined in the Team Member Handbook. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Ability to stand for the entire shift, excluding meal and rest periods. Ability to move and lift 55 pounds. Ability to bend or twist at the waist and knees on a consistent basis. Ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and team members. Ability to perform work activities requiring cooperation and instruction. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment under significant pressure. Ability to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to report regularly to work and maintain established business hours to support the FedEx Office business. PAY AND BENEFITS Pay Range: $20.30–$24.84 per hour. Compensation is determined by experience, market level, location, and other job‑related factors. Eligible employees can receive additional pay, premiums, or bonus potential.
