About Layton Services:

Layton Services is seeking an experienced Pipe Foreman with a strong background in sanitary sewer, storm drainage, and water main installation within a civil construction environment. This role is responsible for leading field crews, managing daily site operations, and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to specifications.

This is a hands-on leadership position ideal for someone experienced in underground utilities, excavation, and site work who can confidently manage crews and production schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, organize, and supervise underground utility crews
• Oversee installation of sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and water main systems
• Assign daily tasks and ensure compliance with project plans and specifications
• Read and interpret blueprints, grade stakes, and technical drawings
• Utilize GPS and laser-guided layout systems for accurate installation
• Conduct safety meetings and enforce OSHA safety standards
• Maintain daily reports including labor hours, materials, and production tracking
• Coordinate equipment use and material deliveries
• Communicate directly with Superintendent and Director of Operations
• Troubleshoot field challenges and implement solutions
• Ensure proper trenching, excavation, and shoring practices
• Maintain tools, equipment, and job site organization

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Pipe Foreman, Underground Utility Foreman, or Site Work Foreman
• Strong background in excavation, trenching, and underground utilities
• Experience installing sanitary, storm, and water systems
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
• Knowledge of GPS layout systems and grade control
• Familiarity with construction reporting software
• Strong leadership and crew management skills
• OSHA 30-Hour Certification (Required)
• OSHA Trenching & Excavation Certification (Required)
