Yard Driver - Metal Recycling Yard

Pay: $18
Schedule: Mon-Fri 8AM-5PM
Type: Temp-to-Hire

Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable Yard Driver to help move scrap metal and recyclable materials throughout our recycling facility. This position combines driving, material handling, and yard support to keep operations running safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Drive company vehicles to move materials throughout the yard
• Load, unload, and transport scrap metal and recyclable materials
• Assist with receiving incoming shipments and organizing materials
• Record load information and assist with inventory tracking
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Perform basic vehicle and equipment inspections
• Assist customers and contractors with loading and unloading materials
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies

Requirements

• Valid driver's license required (CDL is a plus)
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical labor throughout the day
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Prior driving, yard, warehouse, or recycling experience is a plus
• Reliable transportation and attendance

Physical Demands & Work Environment

This position requires frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and moving materials weighing up to 75 lbs. Employees will work outdoors in a recycling yard and must be comfortable working in varying weather conditions, around heavy equipment, and in a physically demanding environment. Candidates should be safety-minded and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
