The Calaveras County Office of Education ("CCOE") partners with our four local school districts and the community to provide quality education to our county's 5,270 students in pre-kindergarten through twelfth grades. We manage alternative education programs for students at Calaveras River Academy, Mountain Oaks Charter School (an Independent Study program), and Oakendell Community School. We also offer adult education services, and a variety of special education services as the Responsible Local Agency ("RLA") for the Special Education Local Plan Area ("SELPA"); including, five special education preschool programs and a program for transition-aged young adults (ages 18-22).

Job Summary Under the direction of the SELPA Director, provide instruction, assessment and program planning for moderately to severely handicapped preschool special education students; monitor and evaluate student progress, work cooperatively with specialist, parents and agency representatives in providing for the educational and personal needs of the students and their families, obtain and provide instructional materials for special education services; serve as an informational resource for students, parents, and school district personnel.
Requirements / Qualifications - Copy of Transcript (Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with an emphasis in appropriate field.)
- Credential Copy (A valid and appropriate California Special Education Teaching Credential with Early Childhood Special Education Authorization.)
- English Learner Authorization (One of following must be submitted: Credential copy showing ELA, CLAD Cert, BCLAD certification or an explanation as to why this requirement is not met)
- Letter of Introduction (Formal Letter of Interest)
- Letter(s) of Recommendation (Three Required; preferably from former employers or supervisors)
