TEKsystems is seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer / AI Platform Engineer to play a critical role in advancing an organization's Generative AI and Machine Learning capabilities.This individual will serve as the bridge between enterprise data platforms and AI/ML operations, helping cross functional teams and business stakeholders successfully move from data to production AI solutions. The ideal candidate combines strong software engineering fundamentals, modern data platform expertise, and a passion for AI and MLOps.This role requires a hands-on technical leader who can architect solutions, enable new data sources, support AI initiatives, and guide researchers through the adoption of modern MLOps practices. While the position carries architectural responsibilities, successful candidates will remain deeply technical and actively involved in implementation.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement scalable data and AI platform solutions.Support and enhance enterprise MLOps capabilities and machine learning pipelines.Enable onboarding and integration of new data sources into the AI ecosystem.Partner with researchers, data scientists, and technical teams to architect AI and analytics solutions.Establish and promote software engineering, DevOps, and MLOps best practices.Technical Expertise5+ years of software engineering experience with strong SDLC discipline.Strong programming experience in Python or similar modern programming languages.Experience developing and supporting enterprise-grade applications and platforms.Deep understanding of data engineering concepts, including:Data lakesData pipelinesData integrationAnalytics platformsData architectureThe ideal candidate has evolved through a career path such as:Software Engineer Data Engineer AI Platform EngineerAdditional Skills & QualificationsThis role is 100% remote but needs to sit in one of the following states: AL, AZ, CA, CO, CT, DE, FL, GA, HI, IL, IN, IO, KT, LA, ME, MD, MA, MI, MO, MT, NH, NJ, NY, NC, OH, OR, PA, RI, SC, TN, TX, VT, VA, WA, DC, WIJob Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Durham, NC.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $150000.00 - $150000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
