Oxford Hills/Nezinscot Adult Education serves adult learners in the Oxford Hills (SAD17) and Buckfield, Hartford, Sumner (RSU10) primarily as well as welcoming students from other districts. Oxford Hills/Nezinscot Adult Education serves well over 150 academic enrollments as well as more than 100 workforce enrollments each year. Students in academic programming are working toward high school completion either by earning a diploma or taking the HiSET (high school equivalency) exams. Students in our workforce training programs may be enrolled in truck driver training, Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Residential Medication Aid or Heat Pump/Solar Technician training.

Math instruction includes working with both academic and workforce students to strengthen math skills in order to be successful in their academic or workforce pursuits.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Candidates must hold a valid Maine certification or be certification eligible.
Reports to: Director of Adult & Community Education
Work Schedule: as needed and determined by course enrollment

Oxford Hills/Nezinscot Adult Education, located at 1570 Main Street, Oxford, Maine is seeking candidates to fill a part-time math teacher position beginning in September 2026. Teaching duties include math instruction for academic students as well as for students in the HiSET high school equivalency program. Additional duties as needed may include math instruction for low-level math learners, workforce training students, or for English Language Learners. Anticipated teaching schedule will include one or two evenings and an afternoon during the week (classes are not held on Fridays).

Required: Adult Education Teacher Endorsement or be eligible for endorsement, Bachelor's Degree. Prior teaching experience in an adult education setting is strongly preferred. Must be willing to teach evening classes as scheduled. Position may necessitate travel to Buckfield to teach.

OXFORD HILLS REGION

The Oxford Hills School District (MSAD 17) comprises the towns of Norway, South Paris, West Paris, Oxford, Waterford, Harrison, Hebron and Otisfield. MSAD 17 shares vocational resources and accepts students in its Oxford Hills Technical School programs from the RSU10 School District towns of Buckfield, Hartford and Sumner. Oxford Hills/Nezinscot Adult Education is located within the Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School.
