Job Description

Salary: $85,600 - 107,000 per year Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
• Proficient in testing or developing electric axles and drivetrains
• Skilled in the design, construction, implementation, and validation of electric powertrain testing equipment
• Experienced in data analysis and scripting for automated data analysis tools like NI DIAdem and CONCERTO is preferred
• In-depth knowledge of automotive CAN and CAN FD communication, with the ability to create .DBC or FIBEX CAN database files
• Familiarity with configuration, development, and maintenance of Veristand test systems is preferred
• Knowledge of configuration, development, and maintenance of AVL PUMA and EMCON test systems is desirable
• Experience in configuration, development, and maintenance of other dynamometer control systems such as REPS and STARS/SPARC may be considered
• Ability to work independently and autonomously

• Conduct system level validation testing for Powertrain, including occasional vehicle testing in a laboratory setting
• Assist in the development of both new and existing test system capabilities, from defining requirements to ensuring efficient functionality
• Create test methodologies for electric Powertrain products, including instrumentation and data acquisition setups to ensure quality, repeatable outcomes
• Collaborate with other Rivian teams to contribute to the development of Rivian Test Standards, offering technical insights on test setups and validation strategies
• Define testing profiles for drive units and gearboxes and support the incorporation of these profiles into automated testing scripts
• Analyze test results, compile reports, and approve them for publication
• Troubleshoot testing challenges with customized test beds and devices under evaluation
• Contribute to ongoing departmental improvement initiatives
