Accounting Assistant

A leading Japanese food manufacturer is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant with 4 years of experience in finance and accounting. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience across a wide range of accounting functions and supports daily operations while ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

Main Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries in a timely and accurate manner
• Perform monthly bank and account reconciliations
• Assist in the preparation of GAAP-compliant financial statements
• Conduct financial analysis to support business decision-making
• Provide support during internal and external audits
• Assist with budget preparation, monitoring, and variance analysis
• Perform profitability analysis and identify cost-saving opportunities
• Handle day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable and receivable
• Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
• Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications & Skills

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
• 4 years of relevant experience in finance and accounting is preferred
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and GAAP
• Experience with accounting systems such as SAP and QuickBooks
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Business-level proficiency in English and Japanese (both written and verbal)

• Work Hours: Mon to Fri, 8:30am to 5:30pm (1 hour lunch break)
• Salary: $55,000~66,000 annually, depending on experience
